Cognitive behavioural therapy improves sleep in people with chronic pain – new study

A team from the University of Warwick developed a scale that measures beliefs about pain and sleep, and examined overall quality of sleep in four groups of people who had long-term pain and bad sleeping patterns. Continue reading

Treatment for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis seen to lower cardiovascular disease, says study

heart-1237254_1280 copy 2Tumour necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors, commonly used to treat psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis patients, have been found to potentially lower the risk of heart attack or stroke.

The study, which was published in Clinical Reviews in Allergy and Immunology, says that previous research has indicated a high prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors in psoriatic patients.  Continue reading
