Exercise seems to improve sleep in people with rheumatoid arthritis – recent findings
Taking physical activity may have positive benefits on sleep in people with rheumatoid arthritis, says a study in Rheumatology International, but better quality research is needed before firm conclusions can be drawn.
Experts looked at all of the evidence and found five relevant studies involving 262 people with rheumatoid arthritis to analyse. Although the team reported that ‘firm conclusions cannot be made because the studies had a high risk of bias’, they did say that ‘there is some indication that exercise may have positive benefits on sleep in people who have rheumatoid arthritis.’
