National Arthritis Week: 7th–13th October
We’re one day into National Arthritis Week and Arthritis Research UK is asking for information from people with arthritis and funding for its Joint Effort Pledge.
Last year more than 9,000 people completed the National Arthritis Survey, helping the charity to understand the impact of arthritis on the UK population and how the condition is seen and understood.
Complete the survey by visiting www.arthritisresearchuk.org and consider donating to enable the charity to continue researching into effective treatments for arthritis.
“I was only nine-years-old when I was diagnosed with septic arthritis and was left wheelchair-bound,” says classical singer, Laura Wright, who is an ambassador for the charity. “I couldn’t play with my friends or take part in certain lessons. For my parents and siblings, it was really difficult as they could see how frustrated I felt. I encourage people to find out more about the realities of living with arthritis during National Arthritis Week.”
