Top 5 cooking tips

  1. Reduce the need to bend by storing pots and pans on wall hooks or a pot hanger from the ceiling;
  2. When filling or emptying large pots of water, transfer the water with a small plastic measuring cup;
  3. Protect joints and muscles by rolling new bottles of sauce before opening (ie don’t shake them);
  4. If turning doorknobs is difficult, replace them with handles;
  5. Freeze fresh herbs and spices in tablespoon, teaspoon and half-teaspoon measurements. Place in marked bags in the freezer for the next time you need to add them to a recipe.
