Fibromyalgia symptoms and sleep disorders – latest findings
Sleep disorders and fibromyalgia symptoms are intricately linked, says research in the Journal of Health Psychology.
A team looked at the relationship between sleep quality and fibromyalgia symptoms in 326 patients. They found that over 92% of the participants had a sleep disorder. Furthermore:
- 88% had generalised pain;
- 79% had memory failure;
- 59% had moodiness;
- 78% had excessive anxiety;
- 69% have concentration difficulties.
Those with more fibromyalgia symptoms had worse sleep quality.
“Sleep quality has an important association with fibromyalgia symptoms,” the experts conclude.
